Material Qualities:
In the shops investigating new forms of fabrication.

An introduction and opportunity to experiment with a variety of materials, fabrication techniques, and finishing methods. The project began in the metal shop with the creation of a corner condition from standardized metal shapes. We then used the robotic arm, 5 axis milling, to create a foam insert that complemented the metal corner. My final project focused on a wall and sill detail, examining the ephemeral, illustrative, and practical qualities that emerge when wood and metal are subjected to conditions of water and fire.
